Web Design Solutions
We love to help small businesses establish or improve their image and web presence, but whether your company is large or small, we have the time, expertise, and creativity to provide the best solution that fits within your budget.
Our Website Development Process includes:
Needs/Wants Analysis
We’ll meet in person or via phone (Skype, GoToMeeting, etc.) to discover what you hope to accomplish with your new or redesigned website. We want to understand your business, what your website requirements are, your time frame, etc.
We’ll have many questions for you to help clarify the project requirements and constraints. After we’ve learned about your business and your needs, we will prepare a quote you on your project if we feel you could benefit from our services and skills.
Proposal
We’ll use the information we gathered during our needs analysis to prepare a proposal. We’ll present our design and content ideas to you, along with an estimate of the costs. Often, we present a list of options that you can choose from to further enhance your website.
If you accept our proposal, we’ll work out the details such as starting/ending dates and payment schedules in a website design agreement. Depending upon on the cost of the project, an initial deposit/down-payment may be required.
Website Design and Creation
Project Administration: Depending upon the project, we’ll set up a communication plan and will give you access to a project area where you can upload the items we need for your project. Examples would be spreadsheets of your product inventory (for e-c0mmerce sites), and promotional brochures, text and/or images you wish to include in the website.
Graphic Design: We will provide up to three custom designed home page concepts for your website. After you have reviewed the designs and decided which one you would like to use, we will continue to make modifications to the design until the final desired look is achieved. Once the final design is achieved, it will become a template for the rest of your site so that all your pages will be consistent in design and navigation. Next, we’ll work on any dynamic content (database pages, catalogs, etc.) that your site requires.
Programming/Web page creation: Any custom code required for your site will be created and tested and finally approved by you before it is implemented into the site. We’ll create all the web pages for your site, using the content you provide.
Testing/Review: When we’ve completed the site, we’ll ask you to review the site, testing all of the site’s functionality to ensure it is working they way you intended. We’ll make any last minute corrections or revisions based on this testing.
Website/Project Launch: After the final testing, review and any necessary modifications, final payment will be due before your site is made live. Once live, we will perform one final testing of the site to ensure everything is working correctly in the live environment. When necessary, any documentation needed to use the administration functions of your website is included in PDF format. We’ll also provide a zipped/archived copy of all your website files and any software/image licenses purchased on your behalf will be transferred to you.
Minor Adjustments after Launch: Minor adjustments to the website are included at no charge for up to two weeks after the website has launched (maximum of up to 3 hours labor). Minor changes include adding changing text, adding or changing photos, etc. Any major revision requests will require additional discussion and possibly incur a fee.
Being a small business, we know that timelines and budgets are very important, so we don’t re-invent the wheel for every website design project, and always leverage open source technology and solutions whenever appropriate to keep your costs low.
